Jerez-born Alba Espert, winner of the XVI young flamenco contest of the Diputación de Córdoba, assures that playing "is a necessity"
It is not from Santiago or San Miguel, but from Puertas del Sur. His vocation does not run in the family, but when he was only eight years old, he asked his father for a flamenco guitar. He then he began his training at the municipal school and from there to the El Carbonero and Balao academy.
On June 8, she was awarded the XVI Young Flamenco contest of the Diputación de Córdoba, in whose capital she studies her true passion.
Even so, it is still strange to see a woman accompanying the guitar. "Between the own companions, inadvertently sometimes, some comment comes out", she admits.
In the capital of the Caliphate she belongs to the Paco Peña Association, and usually plays in their recitals. Her training will allow her to dedicate herself to teaching, but she declares that "what I like is the stage, the contact with the public that imposes so much respect on me, because I am very shy."
