The sensitivity and strength of music in a single concert; the public vibrated again at the second concert of the International Guitar festival (06/11/2021)

  • The choice of both different styles that became complementary in this concert

The music played by Ronda Guitar Duo was music originally composed for romantic guitars, the plucked string instrument typical of the 19th century. Elegant, cheerful and romantic lounge music that the duo was able to offer with all its expressive content. From the curious pieces by Josep Ferrer, the sonatas "a la Scarlatti" by Father Antonio Soler, the vast and beautiful duet of Fernando Sor and the lightness and virtuosity that they showed in the duet of Ferdinando Carulli.

We were impressed by the rich sound that the duo has achieved, the richness of nuances and dynamics, which delighted the audience. Of note is the encore dedicated to the Cinema Paradiso soundtrack.

A delight the second part on the other hand was surprising. Young Alba Espert, one of the firm promises of flamenco guitar with a woman's name, she took the stage with a strength and security that left us with our mouths open. Her three solos, the rondeña, farruca and taranta, were fantastic, with more than convincing dynamics and a sense of flamenco form. The appearance of Julio Fajardo's cante oversized the recital, which demonstrated his mastery and knowledge of the terrain he treads.

The audience, mostly foreigners, once again vibrated with the sensitivity and strength of both proposals. The choice of both different styles was very successful, which in this concert became complementary.

Today you cannot miss the performance of the Italian classical guitar virtuoso Simone Onnis and the leading flamenco guitar of Manuel de la Luz, with the cante of Olivia Molina.

At 20:30 in the Convent of Santo Domingo de Ronda.
