Headquarters of the Peña Flamenca y Literaria Peñarriblense
(Multipurpose Center)
We are going to offer a lecture on Los Cantes de las Minas, with which it has been possible to demonstrate some of the well-founded and intentional versions that have been given, disproving some myths that have done more harm than favor to the origin of these cantes.
The conference is set up from the prism of making a sincere recognition of the origins of these cantes, denying, in a documentary way, many of the interested and flawed assertions of these origins, which have no historical support.
It is based on studies that have taken several years of research, considering the literary documentary plane as the graphic and sound.
The conference will begin with slide shows alluding to mining with a musical background. At the end of the sessions, the speaker will be presented. This conference will be given by Rafael Lora, president of the Tertulia Flamenca “Amigos de Paco Peña” of Córdoba and a person very well recognized for his involvement in Flamenco.
Once the presentation is made, the Conference itself will begin. This will be developed with the various explanations of the topics investigated, as well as the cantes that comprise the so-called "Cntes de las Minas". All this will always be accompanied by photographic exhibitions.
The conference will be supported by the cantes of Francisco Pulido "El Chiapas" and the guitar of Alba Espert , as well as an extensive photographic documentation on mines and the mining world.
This same event, in the places where it has been presented previously, with the same actors, has been a resounding public and educational success.
Free entrance, until capacity is completed.
