MUJERES CELEBRAN A PACO DE LUCÍA

ALMA DE SONANTA

"Alma de Sonanta" is a Flamenco Art recital where the guitar is the protagonist, overshadowing other disciplines such as singing or dancing.

This performance aims to pay tribute to the great Masters of this Art, whose creations have greatly enriched our culture, including Manolo Sanlúcar, Paco de Lucía, Sabicas, Niño Ricardo, José Luis Balao, and more.

The show illustrates different disciplines of this instrument, as the program includes solo guitar pieces and guitar accompaniments for singing.

The performance will cover various flamenco styles, from the classic Soleá and Tangos to lesser-seen styles like Petenera and Vidalita.

This show introduces a female flamenco guitarist who not only performs concerts but also accompanies singers, adding a novel aspect to the traditional flamenco scene.

CURRITA NÚÑEZ

Currita Núñez. Una lagartija muy flamenca.

Currita Núñez is a lizard from Jerez, full of art and charm, but one day something happens that completely changes the rhythm of her life.

“Currita Núñez. A Very Flamenco Lizard” is an illustrated and musical tale that revisits popular tradition, offering a feminine perspective on the meaning traditionally associated with the word lagartija. The text is written by Almudena Navarro, the illustrations are by Susana Subirana, and the music has been created by Rocío Rosado, Elena Jiménez, and Alba Espert.

Currita is a dancer wearing a 'bata de cola', a train she moves with grace and flair, performing a unique and singular dance.

Lizards shed their tails as a self-defense mechanism to escape predators, and the same thing happens to our artist. Devastated and wounded by what has occurred, Currita no longer feels like herself. In this personal journey of identity and meaning, Currita encounters other animals who want to help her.

This story highlights the value of friendship, the acceptance of the inevitable, resilience, and self-esteem as keys to fulfilling our goals and desires. In addition, the book is accompanied by an educational proposal: a teaching dossier with content on flamenco and emotions, whimsical readings (lecturas currilocas), a flamenco herbarium featuring flora and fauna, Andalusian animals from A to Z, mazes, word searches and crosswords, everything about lizards, poetry, play, and more.

And as if that weren’t enough, this illustrated album includes a flamenco musical version, with six original pieces featuring the voice of Rocío Rosado, the guitar of Alba Espert, and the clarinet and other magical instruments performed by Elena Jiménez:
- 'Érase una vez Currita por alegrías'
- 'Fandango de la cola'
- 'Tanguillo de la araña'
- 'Farruca del pavo real'
- 'Canción del gato Timoteo'
- 'Guajira de la mariposa'

The stage adaptation of the story, enriched with musical performances, offers an artistic experience specially designed for young audiences, facilitating an introduction to flamenco from a cultural, educational, and emotionally sensitive perspective, attuned to new generations.

ANDALUCÍA, TIERRA FLAMENCA
