Jerez-born Alba Espert has been awarded the 'Premio Andalucía Joven' by the regional government of Andalusia (08/13/2022)

  • The Andalucía Joven Awards recognize 13 entities and individuals for their commitment to youth.

The Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality announced on Friday, on the occasion of International Youth Day, the Andalucía Joven Awards granted by the Andalusian Youth Institute (IAJ) to 13 groups, entities, and individuals from the autonomous community representing the eight Andalusian provinces. These honorary awards, without financial allocation, recognize the work, dedication, personal involvement, and commitment to the development of Andalusian youth.

The Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality thus grants public recognition to the work of young people who demonstrate their commitment in various areas of society, as well as the work and trajectory of groups and entities that, in their respective areas of activity, perform relevant work or tasks that have a positive impact on the development of Andalusian youth.

As pointed out by the Minister of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality, Loles López, "with these awards, we distinguish those entities and individuals who work for the youth of Andalusia, a commendable task that helps us progress as a society."

At this point, the minister stressed that "we often hear that youth is the future of Andalusia, but for there to be that future, it must be the present, and I am convinced that Andalusian youth is already the present of this land and, without a doubt, will be the future of an increasingly prosperous and inclusive Andalusia."

Similarly, she wanted to thank the winners and proponents "for their work for Andalusian youth" and highlighted that the entities, groups, and individuals recognized with this distinction "represent the values that this Ministry wants to continue promoting for the benefit of the youth of Andalusia."

Specifically, the 13 awards represent categories ranging from social entrepreneurship to respect for equality and sexual diversity, through categories such as sports or sustainable development, among others.

In the "Arts and Culture" category, the winner is Alba Espert Ruiz. Born in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), she studied a Higher Degree in Music, specializing in Flamenco Guitar at the 'Rafael Orozco' Superior Conservatory of Music in Córdoba and completed a Master's in Research and Analysis of Flamenco at the University of Cádiz and the University of Córdoba. At just 25 years old, she has been a Flamenco Guitar teacher since 2015 at the Cultural Association Tertulia Flamenca 'Amigos de Paco Peña' (Córdoba).
